. As you know, IKEA has been struggling with quite serious problems for a long time. We are talking here primarily about the Scandinavian branches of this brand - mainly in Norway. A few years ago we observed the "Ike boom". There were plans to build more supermarkets. Unfortunately, these plans were not implemented and the company gave up building new markets in Vestfold, Follo, Ålesund and Tromsø. Reason? In 2017, the company lost almost 100 million kroner, a year after sales at Ikea fell for the first time in twenty years. However, the head of the Norwegian IKEA does not give up. He wants to meet the needs of today's market. And above all, customer expectations. What does he propose?
Norwegian IKEA - the customer counts ...
Clare Rodgers, who has been the head of Ikea in Norway since 2015, does not lay down her arms and wants to implement new repair methods. She emphasizes at every step that today, in order to gain the customer's trust, you have to surprise him, inspire him and make him interested in the offer in an unusual way. In addition, he realizes that an opportunity for IKEA is online sales. He believes that the current consumer world requires the company to stand out from hundreds of similar brands.
We need to make it easier for people, in the future we need to have great experiences both digitally and in the department store so that people can interact with us. I believe stores that don't offer a great customer experience won't survive in the future, says Rodgers.
Norwegian Ikea - with modern technologies for "You"
Today we live in a digital world. We have to use it and appreciate it in our daily sales. We also have to make everyday shopping as easy as possible for the customer. The pace of life is enormous and today's audience does not have time to queue. Therefore, soon we will buy even IKEA kitchens online:
It will be possible to consult the advisor, for example via Skype. Besides, it is worth mentioning that we have already done a lot. In the coming years, we will provide customers with many experiences, also when visiting a stationary store. It will be an adventure center where people can chat, learn, eat, play and create a community. Clare Rodgers assures.
