Will Robot Aino lead to a reduction in employment at DNB bank?

Industry 4.0 is the fourth industrial revolution. In other words, machines are becoming more intelligent and taking over human activities. The Aino robot appeared on the market last year, and today it can handle most of the inquiries of DNB bank customers.

Aino is a robot that appeared on the market in October 2018. Although for someone these few months may not be something big, the machine has reached the stage where it can handle more than half of the inquiries of DNB bank customers. Initially, the robot was presented as a temporary summer worker, but eventually became permanent. As a result, it may soon start reducing employment in the company.

The Aimo robot was originally meant to be just a test and become a temporary worker, but eventually got a full time job. Since October, it has taken over 50% of all orders that are sent to DNB via chat. The machine can handle an e-mail or a chat conversation. Summing up several months of work, Aino managed to answer almost 17% of all submissions.

The greatest efficiency 

Many DNB bank employees may be concerned because it is Robot Aino that has been hailed as the most effective employee serving clients. It would not be surprising, but the robot appeared in the company only a few months ago, and has already become the best employee. Let us remind you that DNB employs 800 people to service its client. 

Artificial intelligence will replace people?

But it turns out that this is not the only thing DNB bank customer service employees may feel threatened. According to the bank, the Aino robot can also handle matters relating to customers from other sectors of the company, e.g. processing loan applications. Currently, over 80% of such matters are handled digitally. Aino is still in development and the people working on it artificial intelligence they do not deny that the machine can lead to a reduction in the need to employ people. DNB representatives, of course, deny such actions and add that their goal is not to put as many people as possible out of work.
