Norway-Mustang Mach-E what price? and high-capacity batteries.

The Mustang Mach-E is a five-door midsize SUV and Ford's first dedicated electric vehicle built from the ground up. In today's market electric cars closest competitors are of course. Jaguar I-Pace and Mercedes-Benz EQC, and next year there will also be a BMW iX3.

Price?

The Mustang Mach-E offers the freedom to choose both battery size and bandwidth. This means low the most affordable starting price version with rear-wheel drive. And a battery with a power of 75,7 kilowatt hours (kWh, gross). At the time of launch, the starting price was set at 412 crowns.

Added to this is a 98,8 kWh battery pack (93 of which should be roadworthy), which raises the price by approximately CZK 50. Thanks to this combination, the theoretical range of the WLTP is 000 kilometers.

Choosing four-wheel drive additionally raises the price by 70-000 crowns, and at the same time reduces the range. Depending on the size of the battery and the choice of rear or four-wheel drive, the Mustang Mach-E weighs between 80 and 000 kilograms. The Mustang Mach-E does not have a heat pump, but does come with active battery heating and cooling.

The first cars to arrive in Norway will be from the so-called First Edition. Then we talk about "One with everything" , the largest package of batteries and AWD for 589 CZK.

The smallest battery pack is "Standard Range" and the largest is "Long Range". The batteries will be manufactured by LG Chem, and Ford gives the impression that it has good access to them.

Luggage compartment capacity

The Mustang Mach-E has a trunk under the hood. The luggage compartment capacity is 412 liters at the rear (in practice it looks bigger) and another 100 liters at the front. The fact that the front is indeed a bit tight, however, most closely resembles the different models Tesla in today's market.

Ford is one of the owners of the burgeoning IONITY lightning charging network. Mainly why it is not surprising that it aims to achieve a maximum charging speed of 150 kW. At the premiere, no details were given about the charging speed at home. However, based on what Ford has pointed out, there is reason to believe that this is a maximum of 11kW (400V / 16A, 3-phase).

Apart from that charging port located on the left front fender.

In addition to a very interesting price and a car that seems to fit well as a family car, they gain functionality such as "over air" software updates (OTA, a known practice of Tesla for many years) and a trailer weight of 750 kg. .

Currently, the car is not approved for roof loads. In our opinion, however, Ford should definitely sort this out before the car is ready for delivery.

Ford Mustang Mach E will appear in Norway in the fourth quarter of 2020. Just after the pre-sale started, right after the premiere on November 18, 2019.
