Not only the amount of the salary

More and more industries are struggling with a shortage of workers. A recruitment problem may negatively affect the functioning of the company and significantly increase the costs of acquiring employees. Therefore, more and more companies focus on building the image of a good employer, trying to stand out on the market working. All the more so because raising salaries and extra-wage benefits alone are often no longer sufficient.

Situation on labor market favors talented people who stand out with certain skills. It's not difficult for them find a job, especially talents in the area of IT and modern technologies - these are competences that are in short supply. Good times have come for such people - says the news agency Newseria Biznes Magdalena Warzybok, director of the Talent practice at Aon Hewitt.

Historically low Unemployment has meant that employees have been ruling the labor market for months. According to data from the Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Policy, in September unemployment rate dropped once again (by 0,1%) to 6,9%. Currently, 1,1 million Poles are unemployed. These are the lowest rates since the early 90s.

Even lower data are provided by Eurostat, according to which in August the unemployment rate in Poland was 4,7 percent. (compared to 4,8% in July), and the number unemployed in Poland amounted to 812 thousand On the European and Polish In the labor market, there is a particularly high demand for IT specialists and programmers, ranging from 30 to even 50. specialists. This gap is growing, hence the competition industry related IT is listed among the best paid, most promising and most sought after on the Polish labor market.

As the director of the Talent practice at Aon Hewitt notes, the employee market also translates into... pressure on wages, so companies are forced to systematically increase salaries. In August, the average salary in the enterprise sector was PLN 4492,63, which means an increase of 6,6 percent. year to year (approx. PLN 280). IT specialists and professionals, representatives of previously underestimated professions, such as construction workers and mechanics, benefit the most from this.

The amount of remuneration

In some organizations, we observe enormous pressure on the remuneration of line workers and investments in a group of employees who have so far been quite lowly remunerated. This often means that the budget burden is transferred to the current needs of this group, at the expense of higher positions or people who have participated in the programs talent, for which sometimes there is no money. WITH Individuals' prospects are good times - says Magdalena Warzybok.

The shortage of workers is not only associated with a reduction in production capacity, but by and high costs of recruitment and acquiring new talents. It is generally accepted in the HR industry that recruiting and acquiring a new employee for a specialized position is for... company cost the equivalent of six or even twelve times the monthly salary.

Companies that build their communication through active employer branding build their image as an employer with a mission, professing specific values that distinguish the company on the labor market - they have the ability to attract the best people much easier and for them these costs are lower - Magdalena Warzybok points out.

What affects the amount of remuneration

Factors, such as mission and values, are important primarily for representatives of the millennials and Generation Z generation, who in a few years will constitute the majority of job candidates (according to estimates, in 2025 they will already constitute approximately three quarters labor force).

Aon Hewitt data shows that the key aspects that build the engagement of millennials in... workplace it is the possibility of self-fulfillment, non-financial recognition and people orientation. For representatives of younger generations the company's reputation is also important as an employer and an employee-oriented company culture.

Young people who are confident in their skills have good situation on the labor market. They are not necessarily interested in financial conditions, which are generally good. Bigger however, issues related to the values of the organization are important - whether they are consistent with the values of these employees, whether the company's mission and strategy are interesting to them, whether they have the opportunity to participate in projects that affect not only the company's financial result, but also the environment or society. Intangible issues, especially among people, which can choose different employers, become particularly important- says Magdalena Warzybok.
